Description

1,4-Butanediol is a colorless liquid with solubility in water and a high boiling point. 1,4-Butanediol is used as a chemical intermediate for tetrahydrofuran, acetylenic chemicals, polyester resins, and plasticizers, as a monomer for polybutylene terephthalate resins, as a chain extender for polyurethane resins, a cross-linking agent in polyurethane elastomers and as a humectant.
