Description

N-Butanol is a colorless liquid and is utilized as an industrial intermediate to prepare butyl acetate, butyl ester, and butyl ether derivatives. N-Butanol is used as a diluent/reactant in the production of melamine/formaldehyde and urea/formaldehyde resins. It is used as a solvent to make, dyes, lacquers, cellulose lacquers, resins, and varnishes. N-Butanol is a constituent in nail polish formulations. N-Butanol is used to make rubber cement, safety glass, textiles, artificial leather, raincoats, perfumes, motion picture, and photographic film. N-Butanol is also used as a softener to fabricate cellulose nitrate. It is also used in the esterification of lactic acid.
