N-Methylpyrrolidone is a colorless to slightly yellow liquid with a characteristic odor that is miscible in water and many organic solvents. N-Methylpyrrolidone is widely used as a solvent in petrochemical refining, pharmaceutical manufacturing, electronics, coatings, adhesives, specialty chemicals, electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries, formulation of paints, coatings, and surface treatments. N-Methylpyrrolidone is also used in fibers, plastics, resins, dyes, agrochemicals, and electronic components.
