Description
Phosphoric acid is a colorless liquid. It is used in fertilizers, water softeners, and pharmaceuticals. Phosphoric acid is used as an external standard for 13P NMR, an electrolyte in phosphoric acid fuel cells, a catalyst to produce alcohols from alkenes, and as a buffering agent in labs. It is also employed as a cleaner to eradicate mineral deposits/hard water stains, a pH regulator in skin-care/cosmetics products, as an etching solution in dentistry and orthodontics, and as a dispersing agent in detergents/leather processing. Phosphoric acid is used as a raw material to prepare different phosphate salts as an activating agent to prepare activated carbon and as a disinfecting agent in food, dairy, and brewing productions.
