Description

Acetone is the simplest and smallest aliphatic ketone. Acetone is a colorless, flammable, and volatile liquid with a specific pungent odor. Acetone is used as a solvent to build active chemical ingredients for oils, fats, waxes, rubber, resins, plastics, varnishes, lacquers, degreasers, adhesive thinners, and nail paint removers. Acetone is used to manufacture rayon, photographic films, fibers, and drugs. Acetone is also used for storing acetylene gas, purifying paraffin, hardening and dehydrating tissues, and is also present in paint and varnish removers.
